Kate Hunter
Honors Algebra II
Raised in Valley County, Idaho, Kate spent her time exploring the Frank Church Wilderness which formed her love for and appreciation of wild country. In the outdoors, she rides horses on mutli-day pack trips, swims in mountain lakes, and both skis and snowboards in the local powder. She has traveled within Canada, Chile, Mexico, New Zealand, and Switzerland and desires to wander across more countries. She graduates from Lewis-Clark State College in December 2020 with a degree in Mathematics: Secondary Education with plans to teach in a school with a strong sense of community. Inside the academic classroom, Kate is excited to explore mathematics with students as they discover how math skills apply to daily life and their future careers. As well, she looks forward to further developing her technical kayaking skills alongside a passionate group of students. You can reach Kate at khunter@alzarschool.org.
