Housing
A HOUSING EXPERIENCE THAT INSPIRES INDEPENDENCE AND CAMARADERIE.
On-Campus Housing
You will live in a yurt, a round, permanent structure, typical of Idaho backcountry. Our yurts are approximately 30 feet in diameter, have heaters, wood stoves, and bathrooms, and house up to eight students with their own bunk and desk. A bath house with showers is located just steps from the student yurts. You will find that little time is spent in your yurt, and much more is spent exploring the 100-acre campus and surrounding areas. You will have access to several “hang out” areas around campus. Classrooms, the library, meeting areas, and study spaces are in the Confluence Building, and all meals are served family-style in the dining hall. Your outdoor equipment is stored in the barn or in storage sheds, and student laundry is accessed at the Headwaters Building, just a short walk from the yurts.
Chile Housing
While in the Coyhaique area, you will live in small cabanas, typically with 5–6 peers and a teaching fellow. The cabanas have multiple small bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchenette, and small common area. You will prepare breakfast and lunch as a small group while you are in Chile, and dinners are shared together at a local restaurant. Classes are held in the common areas of your cabana, in the dining room of a local restaurant, and outside on porches and by the lake. While on Patagonia expeditions, you will sleep in tents with epic views of the surrounding scenery.
